Issue:
Components were jammed into center of tool, access required removing umbilicaled electrical/pneumatic panels. Electrical panels mounted on slides with energy chains. Components that were part of the upper head were located below the lower head. Much of the electrical was on top of the tool.


Key aspect of this success story was a design solution that allows the tool to be maintained without requiring components to be moved to reach others.

Solution:
CE-i was the chief architect of this repackaging effort of an existing technology. System set the standard for maintainability and reliability. To meet the market window, this project met the extremely aggressive schedule of 1 year and 12 days from architecture approval to deployment of the 3rd system at a customer site.
